MESPT Annual Planning Retreat 2025: Striving for Excellence and Embracing Change

From November 3rd to 7th, 2025, MESPT staff gathered at the Ciala Resort in Kisumu for the annual planning and budgeting retreat, which also incorporated discussions on the ongoing 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. The retreat provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on key achievements, align priorities, and chart the course for continued impact in empowering smallholder farmers and agri-enterprises across Kenya.
In recognition of exceptional service and dedication, the week concluded with an award and recognition ceremony celebrating staff who best exemplify MESPT’s core values of integrity, teamwork, accountability, and innovation. The awards were inspired by the 2025 Customer Service Week theme, “Empowering Excellence in Service,” which emphasizes empathy, professionalism, and a shared commitment to going beyond expectations.

Top of the list was Emmanuel Juma, IT Assistant Officer, followed by Lily Chepkorir, Programme Officer, and Purity Kinya, Finance Manager, all recognized for their outstanding contribution and embodiment of MESPT’s spirit of service excellence. The retreat culminated in a lively team-building event under the theme “Striving for Excellence and Change Management.” MESPT acknowledges that its people are its greatest asset, and investing in their growth, motivation, and cohesion is central to sustaining organizational success. The team-building sessions, facilitated by HRD Ingenuity and George Ikua, inspired reflection, adaptability, and collaboration. George left the team with a powerful message: “Life is a series of dots, you can only connect them looking backwards.”

With renewed energy and a shared vision, the MESPT team steps into 2025 ready to embrace change, drive excellence, and continue fostering sustainable development and financial empowerment for communities across Kenya.
