Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) participated in two major continental convenings; The Financing Agrifood Systems Sustainably (FINAS) Summit 2026 and the Adaptation Investment Summit for Africa (AISA) 2026, strengthening its contribution to discussions on inclusive agricultural finance, climate adaptation, and resilient food systems.

At FINAS 2026, held in Nairobi from 30th June to 2nd July under the theme “Towards Sustainable Financial Architecture for Africa’s Food Systems,” MESPT contributed to conversations on innovative financing models, climate-smart agriculture, and investment in Africa’s agrifood systems.

MESPT Chief Executive Officer, Rebecca Amukhoye, participated in the fishbowl session, “Perspectives from the Demand Side for Building Robust, Inclusive, Demand-Driven Food Systems Financing Solutions.” She highlighted MESPT’s ecosystem-driven approach, emphasizing that sustainable financial inclusion requires more than credit. It must combine blended finance, strong market linkages, financial literacy, enterprise readiness, capable financial institutions, and technical assistance.

MESPT also convened a side event titled “Strengthening Pathways to Financial Inclusion for Young Agripreneurs: Transforming Agri-Food Systems and Economies.” The session explored practical ways of expanding finance for youth-led enterprises through flexible financing products, digital solutions, business development services, data-based lending, and products aligned with agricultural cycles.

At AISA 2026, held under the theme “Accelerating Climate Adaptation Finance and Innovation for a Resilient Africa,” MESPT participated in discussions on gender-responsive financing and investment pathways for fragile and frontier markets, including arid, semi-arid, and climate-vulnerable areas.

The conversations emphasized the importance of moving climate adaptation from dialogue to implementation by investing in locally led, enterprise-driven solutions. MESPT shared perspectives on the need for inclusive financing models that intentionally reach women, youth, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities while strengthening livelihoods and local economies.

Participation in both summits reflects MESPT’s continued commitment to advancing inclusive finance, green growth, agribusiness development, and climate resilience. Through these platforms, MESPT continues to strengthen partnerships, influence sector dialogue, and champion financing and market-based solutions that enable farmers and agripreneurs to build sustainable and resilient enterprises.
